Narrative environment is a space (physical or virtual) in which stories unfold. Observe and (visually) document the many different spaces on your explorations around the Barbican. Spaces might include the lobby, the galleries, the exhibition zones, the gift shop, the corridors, the cafe, the terraces, the stairs, the lifts, the greenhouse etc. Graphic design is no longer just about making two dimensional images on surfaces and screens. Think about the intervention.

Barbican is an area in northeast London. It was redeveloped after the Blitz in World War II. It includes residential area, offices, shops, schools, exhibition spaces and an art centre. Although the content of things you can do in Barbican is rich, it is very quiet and isolated. The Barbican Centre lacks energy of human or life and is currently facing lack of returning visitors. Visitors only come for concerts and movies, and not for the Barbican Centre. How can graphic design take part in the activation of Barbican? Can the Barbican Centre be the symbol of memorial for the people who went through the Blitz?
